Retired Banners edit[edit]

I am editing this article about the Palace of Auburn hills to include information regarding the banners signifying the all time great Pistons and the Pistons/Shock team achievements, as well as some of the musical acts that have sold out the Palace numerous times. This is another reason I am making this edit, because most arenas only have championship banners and retired numbers hanging from the rafters, this is where the Palace is different, and I think this information is pertinent. Name question: why not The Palace of Auburn Hills?[edit]

Why does this page reside at “The Palace (venue)” and not “The Palace of Auburn Hills”? From what I can tell, the venue uses the full name as its official name. The infobox and intro paragraph both refer to it using its full name. We have a redirect from the full name to the official page so I can’t simply rename it. If others agree, someone should start the rename process. MacMog (talk) 03:06, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • agree it should be at the official name - “The Palace of Auburn Hills” 142.109.70.73 (talk) 17:44, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thirded; especially since using the full name would not require a parenthetical disambiguator, which should be avoided whenever possible. In otherwords, the full name is a superior title to the curren one per WP:AT.oknazevad (talk) 13:08, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pistons[edit]

Despite the official announcement that the Pistons are planning on moving to the new Little Caesars Arena in 2017, the tenant list should remain at "present" until the Pistons actually leave. Not only is it 100% accurate to say "present" as long as they are playing there, but agreements and plans can, and often do, change, so no reason we need to jump the gun. Be sure to read WP:CRYSTAL. Until they play their final game at the Palace, it should remain at "present", which is true for any stadium or arena. Future end dates should never be used in a tenant list. --JonRidinger (talk) 06:20, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
