Disambiguation needed[edit]

There seem to be multiple bands called the Poppies:

  • This Australian band that currently occupies the article (which needs categorising);
  • A Welsh band referred to in the Music of Wales article;
  • I have just come across a comment that The Alarm used the name the Poppies as a pseudonym.
  • Pop Will Eat Itself are sometimes referred to as the Poppies.

I think this is a good candidate for a disambiguation page. I shall try to get around to it before the end of the year. Feel free to beat me to it!

There is no known band called The Poppies from Australia. There is a band called The Tall Poppies and a record label/company of the same name. The article about The Poppies in the Australian band section should obviously be under the American band heading.

The Alarm did not use The Poppies as a pseudonym. They did use the name The Poppyfields.

There is/was another band called The Poppies that can't really be pinned down to a specific country. They released an album called "Honeybee" in the 90's.
