One positive review[edit]

Plot[edit]
Robert "Author of Psycho" Bloch, "Strange Eons", 1978: a series of murders recreate scenes from horror stories by H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937). Almost sounds like someone decided, Hollywoodstyle, that Edgar Allan Poe had more name recognition among audiences. However, Bloch's novel is set years after the death of HPL, and the driving theme is that Lovecraft's fictional Mythos was real and Lovecraft tried to warn the world by casting his warning as fiction. Not quite the same, but similar enough to be noticed.--Naaman Brown (talk) 11:31, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Inaccurate interpretation[edit]
At one point of the Plot section, it says:
"The doctor uses a magnet to find the bullet in his flesh, an experience Fields later uses to realize that the ink the killer used in all his notes was magnetic."
I believe this is incorrect, and I don't remember that at any point of the story were the killer's notes ever determined to be magnetic. The inspector's realization when he sees the ink being drawn to the magnet is related to an event at the beginning of the movie, whereupon Fields inspects one of the "Rue Morgue" murder victim's hair, and he wonders why the hair is drawn to a magnet. This is the scene where Fields first meet Poe at the former's office.190.230.2.163 (talk) 23:17, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

Critics[edit]
Hi. I am not familiar with the Wiki-policy about that how film critics should be presented in the articles, but stating that this film is negatively received by the audience is a bit exaggerated. The film is quite good (my opinion at least :)). Best--MacedonianBoy (talk) 21:17, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
