I removed the following sentence for lack of evidence: "Micklethwait and Wooldridge, as the U.S. editor and Washington correspondent for The Economist, are not able to provide a disinterested perspective on their subject matter, as British politics is much more left-leaning than American politics, and British journalists (such as those at the Guardian) often try to interject themselves in American politics in order to sway political outcomes (see the 2004 election)."

I agree with your decision. I just finished reading the book, and found it remarkably evenhanded. Indeed, I thought that for a couple of Europeans, they gave the American Conservative movement a remarkably positive light, while not ignoring its warts.
