Fair Use[edit]

It looks like we have almost all of the lyrics in the main page now. This might be going a bit beyond fair use, would someone with more knowledge please comment? —dcclark (talk) 23:11, 3 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't hold it to that. Somebody misquoted the line which should state "some Gungans died" - I think someone needs to work on this article while actually listening to the song. -- MasterXiam 12:02, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

McLean and the lyrics[edit]

As I note in the edit summary, I cannot find any evidence that McLean has ever said publicly that he's accidentally (or otherwise, for that matter) sung Yankovic's lyrics in performance. The Chicago Tribune couldn't (or didn't) confirm it in 1999, while the parody is mentioned only in passing in two more recent pieces.
