"One Shot Which Was Unusual"[edit]

First of all, when Miss Garland performed this song in MGM's "Meet Me In St. Louis" there were TWO camera setups used, not one.

Secondly it was not the least bit unusual in "those days" to have "long takes;" they were quite common with the camera alternately dollying in and out and changing angles, position and height as the particular scene required.

It is only since we've had "new" film-makers that this whole business of static shots with endless MTV-type cuts has become a reality.
