Questions about my edits[edit]

User:Gtebbutt asked on my user talk page about a couple of my edits to the page... I removed the nickname "the tumbly" because it seems like a fairly obvious abbreviation, and I can't see that it really adds anything; I'm content if you feel strongly about it and want to put it back in. I removed the bit about the demolition because the source given didn't support it - while we might assume McD's are going to demolish it, the news article only mentions they've bought it. There appears to be a dispute about which external links should be included on this article. I don't think that it needs any external links, as there isn't really an "official" website. All the External links that have were previously added point to websites that could be perceived as having a specific agenda (or have been facebook groups - which takes inappropriate to new levels...). -- Mrmatiko (talk) 17:26, 6 April 2013 (UTC) The page was created by a group who are trying to block the sale of the building and force their own purchase, so there may be some bias. Completely overhauled[edit]

I've given this article a total working-over because it did not conform to our guidelines in numerous ways, including structure, formatting and content.

I would ask the original authors of this article to spend some time reading Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:Citing sources. Specifically, articles on historic buildings don't need to be an exhaustive list of every time time they're mentioned in a source; sources should support the bulk of the article, not be it. That is to say, don't write things like "In 17xx, So-and-so mentioned X in his Annals of Whatnot..." unless the fact of the mention in a source itself is a notable fact, or the source is a particularly notable one. — Scott • talk 16:11, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The newest news report I can find on The Tumbledown Dick is that the demolition was in progress.[1] Seeing as this news report was a few months ago, I'm sure that this building must be gone by now. Can't add a image[edit]

Updating the Tumbledown dick image[edit]

The article is predominantly about the pub so I think that image is ok, but it would be good to have an image of the building as it currently looks, or during its conversion, in the Conversion section. Waggers TALK 13:45, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
