Correct name of series?[edit]

Is the name of this series The Untold History of the United States or Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States? Most media releases and Showtime's website uses the latter, while IMDB uses the former. I'm leaning towards the "Oliver Stone's ..." one myself, and am tempted to move the article. Thoughts? "The Untold History of the United States" is alright. How many movie or series titles include the director's name on it? In any case a tiny minority. The issue might be Oliver Stone and his reputation. I think the best would be to use the title the producer gave it. ArticunoWebon (talk) 17:37, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's what my question is. What is the title used by the producer? Outside of IMDB, every official and semi-offical source uses Oliver Stone's name in the title. Showtime uses his name in the title: [1]. Oliver Stone's official website repeatedly uses his name in the title (and makes a tonge-in-cheek note about it): [2]. On the other hand, it appears that the companion book is titled "The Untold History of the United States", which is where I think the confusion comes from. The problem is that the best-selling book is not called "Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States." It's called The Untold History of the United States. With the title change here, we either need a separate article on the book or need to revise the article to clarify the difference. Usually a possessive at the beginning is simply a marketing term used in film production. For instance, you can pay a licensing fee to have any comedy marketed as National Lampoon's _____. via National Lampoon, Incorporated who lease the naming rights to those willing to pay. I've not read the book or seen the series to know if there are differences in content, but is it time for a standalone The Untold History of the United States (book), or a separate section on the book here? I think the word "conservative" (with respect to the Hudson Institute) or "neoconservative" (with respect to Radosh) should be added somewhere in here - not everybody knows their political orientation/bias.

2 additional episodes included in Blue Ray release (October 2013)[edit]

The Blue Ray release includes 2 additional episodes which have never gone to air until now -- I think there are being exhibited in doc festivals:

The listing of some of the movies Oliver Stone used in this documentary.[edit]

In my opinion, I think it's appropriate to list some of the movies Oliver Stone used in "Untold History." He used clips from almost 60 movies, so I won't list all of them, but I think some of the movies he used should be listed in the article. If anyone disagrees with me, please let me know. Thanks. Sean Wilentz[edit]

This article says:

"Wilentz went on to say: ". ... This book is less a work of history than a skewed political document...." "

The Wikipedia article on Sean Wilentz says:

"Wilentz has prominently engaged in current political debate. He is reportedly a long-time family friend of the Clintons.[10] He has appeared in public venues as a staunch defender of Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton"
