Why would anyone ever want to delete this article? If it had been deleted and I was looking for info as today - where would I have turned? This 'delete' nonsense is so much nonsense.

I removed the sentence "Many people see parallels between The Visitor and the much more popular series the 4400", because not only was no support or source cited, but I hold this statement to be highly dubious. This show ran nearly a decade ago, and for only one season -- I doubt "most people" are aware this show ever even existed, given how many shows FOX cancels every season. Also, the 4400 don't deal with alien abduction, but with "future abduction" -- the abductees were taken and modified by humans from the future. In addition, the show's formats are also divergent enough to make a comparison unlikely -- the 4400 has a large, stable cast, whereas The Visitor focused on two main characters.

I agree. You cannot say 'many people'. But you can say there is a pattern here. Call it the 'Roy Huggins Pattern' if you will: The Fugitive, The Pretender, and so forth ad nauseam. The basic tenet is somebody on the run being hunted unjustly, moving on and helping people, new location every week. That was first the idea of Roy Huggins as I've been taught in film school.

This is the best science fiction series I have ever seen. I wish I could see this series once again. I couldn't find a way to get this series, not for money and not from filesharing programs.

If someone will ever read this and know where I can get this series I will realy appreciate email with that information.

thanks! daniel - 333222@gmail.com

daniel, I agree the show was really well done -- I remember Adam Baldwin's "bounty hunter" character was creepy and it surprised me how his hunt was resolved. Then again, maybe I just got hooked into the concept and it was actually not that great of a series, who knows, since I also really enjoyed The 4400 ;) 199.214.24.222 (talk) 22:42, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:The Visitor Logo.gif[edit]

Image:The Visitor Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
