Lord of the Rings and The Wood Beyond the World:[edit]

Just throwing this out there--the dwarf in this story has an interesting resemblence to Gollum from Lord of the Rings. They both walk on four limbs and two, both are hideous. In "The Lord of the Rings" Gollum brings the Hobbits "coneys" to eat and he's surprised when they need to cook them. In "The Wood Beyond the Wold" the dwarf offers to catch a "coney" or other animal, but then remembers that unlike him who eats animals raw, Walter needs to cook the meat. Just an interesting parallel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Justinjuicebox (talkcontribs) 15:05, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting parallells, but Wikipedia is not a forum and does not encourage original research. If one might find a source for the debate, it would work to put it into the article. Quispiam (talk) 22:33, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
rlly? it's interesting, it's on topic, it's creative and is definitely not something i've thought about before. if there were more inserts like this, actually about the book, then i might be tempted to get on wiki more often. 2601:641:C080:520:7410:34F7:69BB:3C9A (talk) 01:49, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
