German? Polish? Jewish?[edit]

I've done some c/e and also added Category:German emigrants to the United States as he was born in Łódź in 1895 and at that time the city was part of Germany. It would become Polish again only in 1918. The article does not contain any information on his family, so frankly he could have considered himself German, Polish or perhaps even Jewish. The Abel (surname) seems to be more common in Germanic countries, and not particularly in Poland, so I think describing him as German, for now, is best, unless someone can find more information about his family origins. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:10, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In 1896 Lodz wasn't German. See the history inhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA. fg
