Birthdate conflict[edit]

Recent edits have changed his birthdate from July 3, 1852 to June 3, 1852. I've found credible sources online for both dates through a quick Google Books search.(sources giving "June 3"; sources giving "July 3") Can we find out if one date is more authoritative than the other or otherwise explain the conflict?
