For what it's worth, Schempp's elder brother Edwin Keith Schempp (1902-1976?)[1] had a career as an academic economist, after graduating from Oberlin, and then wrote a pseudonymous novel Pillar of Fire, which looks to have autobiographical content. He married Frances Wotring, of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, daughter of pastor Wallace H. Wotring.
