Article issues[edit]

I am not sure if some of this is intentional or just a misunderstanding of policies and guidelines as well as common practices. The lead of an article is a summary "of its most important contents". While there are not any policies or guideline prohibiting WP:references in the lead, as a summary, the content should be found in the body of the article and referenced, negating the need to referencing the summary. The lead in this article has one sentence with 12 references, one sentence has 19 references, one sentence has 20 references, one has 7 references, one has 11 references, and another has 20 references with an additional 20 scattered throughout a very long one paragraph lead. My math counts 89 references with only 45 showing in the reference section.
While a generous tag states "This article may contain an excessive number of citations." it is an understatement. There is severe citation overkill that is distracting as citation clutter (it looks bad) and clear notability bombing.
I am not sure how an article showing 52 editors could be so cluttered but apparently it has not gotten attention at least since April 2018. If this is just a reference bombed article to give the appearance of notability it can be brought to AFD otherwise it needs attention. Otr500 (talk) 03:58, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Over a month with no change in the inundation of in-line citations especially in the lead. A random deletion of citations may be in order. Possibly a severe reduction in the lead, to remove content not found in the article as well as reduce citation clutter. Otr500 (talk) 01:08, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
