census[edit]

Untitled[edit]

A census carried out by Eurostat in 2004??? when did this happen?-Yangula (talk) 09:12, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not a real census which takes a lot of money and time and census-takers. An estimate. Certainly not as good as a real census, when available. See "Ellada" under the cite. Student7 (talk) 17:46, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Urban planning or lack of same[edit]

This allowed many new homes to be built on large blocks of land with no future urban provisions taken into consideration and in areas that were otherwise used for agriculture.[clarification needed][citation needed] Just to point out that this is a fact and it will be good if someone can add a source (it can be found if you look through greek planning laws or some articles that talk about it), plus it is common knowledge for anyone living in Thessaloniki that especially in its suburbs, homes are rapidly getting built on agricultural land, were no new roads have been constructed or are even planned. People take advantage of the law that says you can build a 200sqm house outside growth boundaries if you have 4000sq m land, or sometimes even 2000sm m if you subdivide the sq m. This has only changed recently.

with many suburban homes being in direct violation of Greek planning laws.[citation needed] not sure were a source can be found for this but again it's common knowledge that the FARs outside the growth boundaries and even in them are constantly violated. Eg. no one who owns a 4000sqm property has actually built a 200sqm home, some even build not only one but many more in the same landplot. A drive through the suburbs of Thessaloniki shows evidence of this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.108.175 (talk) 05:33, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We depend on WP:RELY citations, not "drive throughs." This is an encyclopedia. Student7 (talk) 23:10, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
