Article changes[edit]

Hello. I'm Ben, an employee from Thinx who recently joined Wikipedia. I disclosed my conflict of interest above and on my Talk page. I'll refrain from making any direct edits to the article, and want to say thanks in advance for considering my request.

  • What needs improvement: The Class Action Lawsuit section is missing context and history about the case, and focuses on information about participating in the settlement. There is some contextual information in the article's introduction, but it is outdated since the case is settled and also focuses more on PFAS than the details of the case.
  • Proposed changes:I'd like to suggest consolidating the information in the introduction and the current Class Action Lawsuit section into a single section called Litigation. Below, I've provided copy that I think is comprehensive and neutral.
    • Proposed content: In 2020, lawsuits were filed against Thinx alleging misleading marketing following an independent test of the company's products that revealed the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a type of chemical found in consumer products and potentially linked to several long-term health risks. The lawsuits were about whether the way Thinx marketed its products as "organic, sustainable and nontoxic" was deceptive. In May 2022, the lawsuits were combined into a proposed class action, and the company reached a settlement in the case in November. In January 2023, the terms of the settlement were announced to consumers, which included no admission of wrongdoing and the company agreeing to pay up to US$5 million to consumers. Thinx also said that PFAS are not part of the product design and going forward, it would ensure PFAS are not added to its products.[1][2]

@CNMall41: Hi! Very much appreciate your assistance with this. The way you reorganized it makes sense to me. One more question if you don't mind. What do you think of the second sentence in the introduction?
The company is currently under scrutiny for a class action lawsuit that alleges Thinx products contain harmful toxins including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) which may be linked to adverse health outcomes like cancer.
As you've seen, the case was about marketing. Based on your comment, it seems like this could be removed. Or if it is appropriate for the introduction, should it be moved down and updated to note that the case has reached a settlement? Curious to hear your thoughts. Thank you again. @CNMall41: Happy to propose something. I think it could be briefly summarized at the end. How does this look?
  • Thinx is a New York–based company that makes feminine hygiene products.[1][2][3][4] The company has three brands: Thinx, Speax, and (BTWN). Thinx is underwear marketed as a product that can be worn during menstruation as a substitute or a supplement to traditional feminine hygiene products. Speax is underwear promoted as a solution for light and moderate incontinence.[5] (BTWN) is a spinoff of the Thinx collection branded for adolescents dealing with menstruation.[6][7] The company settled a class action lawsuit about its marketing in 2022.

I actually did not see it listed in the lead. I do not think it is suitable as the lead needs to summarize the body, not go into depth about it. Hello. Ben here for Thinx with a second request.

  • First, Shama Amalean is no longer with the company. Would editors remove her from the infobox?
  • Second, the introduction includes brand information that has become out of date. In order to make it less likely to need regular updates, I'd like to suggest the following revisions that speak more generally about the products:
  • Thinx is a New York–based company that makes feminine hygiene products. The company's products are designed to be worn during menstruation as a substitute or a supplement to traditional feminine hygiene products. Thinx has product lines for both teens and adults. The company also makes products for moderate incontinence.
