Expanding and clarifying[edit]

A tholus does not necessarily mean a volcano built by pyroclastics. It can be the top of a shield volcano in which the lower, shallower slopes are buried by lava flows. Schaffman (talk) 16:09, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, a tholus doesn't have to be a volcano, although it usually is. I think the last part about tholi on Mars should be deleted, since this is a general discussion of tholi and what is said is incorrect. Schaffman (talk) 17:38, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
