Untitled[edit]

Thomas Butler of Cahir is an important member of the Butler family. The Butlers controlled much of counties Tipperary and Kilkenny following the Norman conquest. It is difficult to track down all the branches of the family. This person is a vital link in the chain that link the Butlers of Ormond branch to the Butlers of Cahir branch. His descendants would become Barons Cahir. Laurel Lodged (talk) 21:10, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Is it safe that his name was Thomas? Even the sources call him 'Edmund', especially according to the main source used for dates of birth and death: http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/BUTLER.htm#Thomas%20BUTLER%20(1°%20B.%20Cahir) Fynn Beaufort (talk) 18:03, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
