Date of Birth[edit]

I have a copy of the eighth edition of The Pursuits of Literature, printed in 1798, when it was still anonymous. At some point someone penciled in the name of the author and gave the dates of his birth and death as 1757-1835. Of course, I have no way of knowing who wrote it, or when, but maybe someone knows if the birth date of 1757 is more accurate than 1754. Cadwaladr (talk) 02:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
