Thomas Nationwide Transport → ? – See WP:COMMONNAME. The company is simply known as TNT for most of its life, with newspapers as early as 1967 calling it TNT. The company was officially Thomas Nationwide Transport Limited for most of its life and only TNT Limited from 1986 to 1998. So this comes a few possible names for this article:

Thomas Nationwide Transport (current name of article) - not the full name of the official name, but it was the inital common name in the early years until the name TNT was more commonly used
Thomas Nationwide Transport Limited - official name for most of its life but it was no commonly used except for official documents or on the first line of many newspaper articles.
TNT - common name for most of its life, and official name since 1986. However, the article of such name is already used for a well-known explosive, so a few alternatives are possible:
- TNT Limited - used since 1986, however may be confusing with TNT Express.
- TNT (1946-1998) - it is clear that this is the TNT courier company from 1946 to 1998 and will not be confused with TNT Express.

As per the examples in the WP:COMMONNAME, the offical/legal name is not used as the article name. Besides, internationally, it is known as TNT as well. Most people know TNT but not the name "Thomas Nationwide Transport" (i.e. does not fit Recognizability and Naturalness criteria). The usage of years to disambiguate from TNT Express may satisfy Precision and Conciseness criteria. Marcnut1996 (talk) 06:45, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose, In the same way that British Overseas Airways Corporation and Trans Australia Airlines, that were universally referred to by their acronyms throughout their lives, yet their article titles are spelt out in full. The latter is similar to the subject of this article, in that even though it was renamed Australian Airlines in the last 6 years of its life, yet the article title is that by which it was known for the majority of its life. TNT went through a few trading names through its life, and while a straight TNT is perhaps more desirable, but as stated is already spoken for, so of all the suggestions for mine it is retain as Thomas Nationwide Transport. When initially setting up the article, did toss up what to name the article. Only other one I considered not mentioned above was TNT (Australian company), but on balance decided to use Thomas Nationwide Transport as this was the company's formal name for much of its life.
