Aboriginal Australians used a heavy non-returning throwing stick as well as the returning boomerang, I think.58.178.126.236 08:09, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

What about the weet-weet, n. [Native name in Victoria (Australia). A throwing toy, or implement, of the Australian Aborigines, consisting of a cigar-shaped stick fastened at one end to a flexible twig. It weighs in all about two ounces, and is about two feet long.
