OK, I'll dig up some references - not all my own - but it may take a week or two to check and decide on a good selection. I can also add some diagrams but this is best done in a 'Details' section of the page. The photograph request is more difficult unless we compare a pair of high and low water images from the Severn Estuary or the Bay of Fundy with the same from a more typical piece of coastline or an oceanic island. Solar resonance[edit]

Are there any places on earth where a resonance is tuned so close to 12 hours that the 12-hour principal solar diurnal component is larger than the slightly longer principal lunar diurnal component? Eric Kvaalen (talk) 13:27, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This will be true at the center of each amphidrome of the M2 tide, where the M2 amplitude is zero. However the S2 tide is always likely to have it own amphidrome nearby - so its amplitude will be small. David Webb (talk) 20:03, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
