Dead Links in Reflist/Replace with NPOV Sources[edit]

In reading this interesting article, I noticed two of the four sources cited are dead links. While the translator utility in Google Chrome adequately translates the Russian-language source among the two remaining links, it's only giving the Russian side of the conflict.

We obviously have work to do here. I'm being WP:BOLD here and deleting passages which are both unsourced and make contentious claims. Anyone who'd like to restore them needs to first locate sources which are reliable and preferably written in English to help with WP:VERIFIABLE.

WP:NPOV requires we present all notable points of view on contentious topics. A scholarly article which itself presents both sides of this incident would be better than the current source relating directly to the incident, which is not only written in Russian, but gives only the Russian side of the conflict and refers to the Chinese at one point as "evil". Unfortunately, wikipedia and a war game based on the battle are the only two sources that show up on the Google search "Tielieketi", so this will require some library time unless someone reading this knows of such a source.

By the time I delete the dead links and delete the more contentious text, we'll be left with a stub article. I've added this article to the list of military history stubs on Russian battles. loupgarous (talk) 18:16, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
