Haddish's middle name[edit]

@Magnolia677: Haddish has stated her middle name is Sarah in an interview. I had linked the exact interview with timestamp where she says this. This is reliable because it is from Haddish herself, not just any random Youtube video. Youtube interviews are referenced throughout this article, so why should this one be different? It's like if she tweeted "My middle name is Sarah"; Twitter is not a great source generally, but it is direct statement from the person so it is okay. -- Divine618 (talk) 17:15, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Divine618: I reverted my edit. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:19, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
How do we know it's spelled S-A-R-A-H and not S-A-R-A or any other spelling variant? If we can't verify the spelling, then it should not be included. KyleJoantalk 17:57, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This apparently now cites Haddish's name as typed by her on Instagram, but with regard to her- or anyone, in fact- having "stated" their name, age, whatever: this is fine as far as it goes, but... there's nothing to say that because she says it, it's factually correct. In this particular case, the California Birth Index does list "Tiffany Sarac (presumably a mistranscription of "Sara C.") Haddish", born 3 December, 1979, mother "Wright", which matches all the details of Tiffany Haddish, so all seems correct. However, "because X said so" doesn't fly: take Rebel Wilson, who claims to be related to Walt Disney's wife even though not one supporting piece of evidence exists for it (and plenty against it) and researchers have concluded she's just clinging to a "family tradition". Yaphet Kotto claimed his father was royal, and a descendant of Queen Victoria- despite no evidence and plenty against the claim. Why would someone give a false middle name? Who knows- but it's certainly not beyond the bounds of possibility. Reinvention is a common thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.202.120 (talk) 15:27, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The version 'Sarac' appears in a source as reliable as Brittanica: [1]. BasileusAutokratorPL (talk) 18:25, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ellen Show[edit]

Did she substitute for Ellen on the Ellen show? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaDynDDlgv0. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfwxrWihUo4 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skysong263 (talkcontribs) 05:24, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Father’s Jewish heritage[edit]

Tiffany never said that her father was Ethiopian/Ethiopian Jewish. Here is what she said in the interview about her so-called Jewish heritage: “He’s (my father) from Eritrea, he’s an Eritrean Jew, it’s right next to Ethiopia” and then she said that she was informed as a teenager by her grandmother that her father was Jewish. Not a single mention of her father being of Ethiopian origin whatsoever. Here is a link from the Jerusalem post to her interview ⬇️ https://m.jpost.com/omg/tiffany-haddish-talks-about-her-jewish-heritage-540144 Bezea2691 (talk) 12:19, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
