UGH[edit]

I can't believe I care enough for this; can somebody delete the sentence about "her yearbook picture"? It makes no sense, has no citation, and contradicts the information several sentences before it.69.249.217.119 04:40, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

shouldnt all this be deleated..but did she know she is mensa member...IQ of 152...... no..not really...

In addition, someone should delete the line that states she is an actress. IMDB shows NOTHING for her other than reality tv and she has no talent. It seems like someone tried to make it a promotional piece. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.33.13.16 (talk) 20:16:43, August 19, 2007 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

I was thinking of editing the trivia section, because it all comes from the TiffanyAKANewYork myspace which has proven to be fake. -Acne_Wash October 23 2006

The MySpace site is a total fake.

Re-direction[edit]

I don't think it's fair that Nicole Alexander, who aside from winning her season has done very little, has her own page, while Tiffany, does not. She's been on both seasons, and received a lot of notoriety in the media for her actions (An article on AOL, interviews with VH1 countdown programs, etc) Acne_Wash October 2, 2006

We all know that New York is just a character. But an inside source just revealed to me that "Tiffany Patterson/Pollard" is another alias. New York is actually Kenya Simmons. She resides in Newark, NJ...not upstate NY like she says (conflicting reports stated that she lived in Rochester, Syracuse and some other area upstate). Mrs. Patterson is also not her mother, but instead another aspiring actress. There's alot more revealed in this article Gold'n Delicious...We Got the Juice 141.155.141.52 16:47, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Surname[edit]

Is it Pollard or Patterson? --Caponer 04:44, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to her myspace blog, its Patterson. 64.12.117.13 03:59, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to this MySpace bulletin, her last name is not Patterson...but right now I have no other source that can claim her last name is not Patterson.

Her name is Tiffany Pollard. She herself says her name is Tiffany Pollard if you watch the VH1 I love New york primerie (just got to www.vh1.com, find the link to I love New York and find the primerie and watch it. I really haven't seen any resources that assert her last name is Patterson.

It should really be merged with Flavor of Love, partially for that reason. There is no additional, useful information contained in this article. 19:48, 3 April 2006 (UTC)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ckessler (talkcontribs)

Her surname is Pollard. Her parents aren't married. Sister Patterson (her mom) gave Tiffany the last name Pollard--her dad's name. Here's the source: http://www.blackvoicesblogs.com/2007/01/06/miss-new-york-busting-loose-part-one/ So if anything, it should be Tiffany Patterson Pollard, but Tiffany *herself* only uses "Tiffany Pollard". I think Tiffany Patterson should re-direct to the *correct* name--Tiffany Pollard.

Well, I Love New York premiered on VH1 last night, and in the very first line of the show, our subject says that her name is Tiffany Pollard, not Tiffany Patterson. With this in mind, I think the name of the article should definitely now be changed. --Masterofzen 12:18, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stop putting links in the middle of the article![edit]

Stop putting links for whatever she is currently doing in the article! I have word that Tiffany herself is doing this!

This article had a merge notice on it for a while. No one raised any objections, since there is very little that makes this person notable, outside of being on FoL. For that reason, it was merged with FoL. Ckessler 23:55, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have word? From whom??

Time to revive?[edit]

I don't know if anybody is still following this discussion page, but yesterday, Patterson announced that she's going to be starring in her own VH1 show, Flavorette. VH1 had apparently already announced the show, but until Sunday's Flavor of Love 2 finale, they couldn't announce who was going to be in it lest they spoil the show's result. As the star of her own spinoff of VH1's highest-rated show ever, I would contend that Patterson certainly now qualifies as notable enough for her own article. If I don't hear any argument, I'm going to resurrect this. --Masterofzen 13:41, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tiffany Pollard (AKA New York) Page[edit]

With spurring rumors of a possible spin-off seriers, I feel the Tiffany Pollard redirect should be deleleted. What the Pollard page lacks is detail and information, which should be ample available after two seasons of Flave-lovin' and the most recent soliciations for a VH1 series. I would encourage a vote/survey or something along those lines. - sharp962 10/17/06.

If it comes out from an acceptable source, that she is going to be on her own show, then yes, the redirect should be deleted. Right now, it's only rumors, and nothing official has been announced. Ckessler 03:39, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen the news in several legitimate publications (the Chicago Tribune, the Louisville Courier-Journal), and though they didn't quote anyone from VH1, they didn't present it as gossip either; they stated it as fact in straight news stories. Pollard herself told the New York Post it was happening, including very specific details on filming, which she says is almost finished, that it seems unnecessary to make up. Not to mention that VH1 did send out a casting call for the show, which confirmed it would star a woman from Flavor of Love, and Pollard is really the only obvious choice. I honestly think that's enough to get rid of the redirect. --Masterofzen 14:27, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MySpace[edit]

I put a 'Widely beleived to be fake' disclaimer next to the TiffanyakaNY account, because it claimed she was a Virgo, but she said she was a Capricorn on the show. Also, the only candids are from Red Oyster's site. -Acne_Wash October 22 2006

Hmmmmm...--Pumpkin Pie 22:25, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On that myspace it says that she is a capricorn duhJtervin 00:21, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Even old New York, was once New Amsterdam. Why did they change it, I can't say. People just liked it better that way. Rexmage 03:39, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

#1 on Vanity Fair's Best dressed list?[edit]

I think that was actually Kate Moss, not Tiffany Patterson as stated.

Aliases[edit]

Is Miss New York actually a separate alias from New York? Seriously, no. If so, everyone could have an alias just by adding a title to their name. I think that should be taken down. Turnerjl 00:40, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in agreement with this. I think the whole section should be removed and just an explanation on her main nickname in the intro. Catty Bit isn't used outside of her MySpace anyhow. Will remove in a few days if nobody has any objections. ⇔ EntChickie 02:30, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mothers Name[edit]

Isn't her mother's name Sister Patterson? That is how she was addressed on Flavor of Love 2 and I Love New York.Tinkleheimer 17:55, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other sources give her date of birth as January 6, 1983. What's right? Has Tiffany ever been reading this whole Wikipedia thing about her? She could add so much information and correct things. 89.51.158.22 09:49, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh, please refrain from the Kenya Simmons rumor. It was totally fallacious and was created by MediaTakeOut. New York has publically laughed at the randomness of it.
There's no way she was born in '82. She's at least in her early to mid 30's.. Rs09985 (talk) 23:21, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article title should be New York (Flavor of Love)[edit]

Since it's the name she's most known by, the article should be named New York (Flavor of Love) or something similar per WP naming conventions. But I won't change it til I see what others think. Crumbsucker 07:05, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flavor of Love and I Love New York Should Not Be In The Article[edit]

Flavor of love and ILNY should not be in the article because the aricle is supposed to be about New york and not about the shows that she has been in. Also I agree with Real96 that the title of the article should not be Tiffany Pollard and should be New York. Fair use rationale for Image:New-york-blender.JPG[edit]

Image:New-york-blender.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Not attacked at reunion?[edit]

Okay, I have a problem with this statement in the article, "However, numerous security guards protected Pollard and, thus, she was not attacked, despite the rumor that Larissa 'Bootz' Aurora punched her repeatedly before security escorted Bootz away from her permanently." While this piece of information may be accurate, it could also very well be inaccurate. There are only a handful of people who really saw what happened backstage, and even if they had made a statement regarding this incident, asserting that Tiffany was not hit at all is too-bold of a statement for us to make. If somebody made a statement asserting that Tiffany wasn't it, it should be worded so the reader knows who it's CLAIMED by, because that's what it is: a claim. As of now, I say we delete this sentence because the only thing we know with absolute certainty was that there were security guards present...doesn't mean Tiffany wasn't hit at least once.

HBIC[edit]

Tiffany Pollard did not make up HBIC and has only refered to herself as so only a few occasions. I feel the tidbit in the beginning of the article should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xxbulldogxx (talkcontribs) 23:13, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That sentence is not saying that she made up the title Head Bitch In Charge, but it is saying that she considers that as a nickname and has used it. Plus, it's referenced (as valid), thus I see no reason to remove the mention, whether she referred to herself as such on a few occasions or not. We don't even know if she refers to herself as that off-screen more so. Flyer22 23:23, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The problem I have with it is the fact that you can be redirected to this particular page when typing, "HBIC." It's not warranted because the term, "HBIC" has been self-entitled/used by several people (Lisa Maria Varon is a good example). Why does New York have priority over someone like her? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.173.79 (talk) 08:02, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh my. I was not aware that HBIC redirects here. In fact, I did not even consider that there might be an article for that term. In any case, that term redirecting here really should not be the case. I mean, truly, that term should not be redirected here unless she coined it, and, well, we all know she did not coin it. Flyer22 (talk) 08:42, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced, questionable material[edit]

I have started to try to copy edit this article. PLEASE try to provide reliable sources for any additions to this bio. Thanks in advance. Also, posting material and citations here would also be awesome. Cheers! --Tom (talk) 15:19, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You removed sourced material about Tiffany Pollard being pregnant, which was sourced. It's not questionable when it's being reported by so many major outlets. -LtColonelBlack

In that case, it will be trivially easy to find a source that conforms to WP:RS (rather than just a set of gossip mags repeating the same poorly verified rumours). --Yamla (talk) 17:35, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize if I removed non contensious(sp), reliably sourced material. As Yamla noted, just add it back in with a reliable source, not a gossip mag, ect. Again, this whole bio probably could have been NUKED and redone from scratch, but I just tried to do a quick trim of the seemingly objectionable and poorly sourced material. Cheers, --Tom (talk) 18:00, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem gentlemen, I'm just going to let a good media outlet get ahold of it first rather than the tabloids, I think it will have a good source within the week. -LtColonelBlack —Preceding unsigned comment added by LtColonelBlack (talkcontribs) 02:22, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I attempted to clean this article up before and it's nearly impossible to keep all the unsourced stuff out. Anyhow, I went ahead and made some edits of my own including removing the statement about her being engaged out of the header. That info isn't needed in the header. I also removed the section with info about her tv appearances and just put a proper filmography and tv appearances list. That a whole lot easier to read than a list of what she talked about blah, blah, blah. I'll put this article on my watchlist and start keeping up with it again. Pinkadelica (talk) 15:25, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good cleansing of this article. Since I see no untrue claims in this article at the moment, and it's at least half-sourced, I removed the tag that warns that this article may have false claims about a living person and which makes the article look like a biohazard. It probably needs an additional references tag, however. Flyer22 (talk) 21:50, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. I think it's in pretty good shape for now. Pinkadelica (talk) 01:47, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the unverified research is back, y'all...I'm tagging it. I'm pretty sure what's on this page now was sourced from a gossip blog or so. I'm not familiar with New York that much--can anyone revert the article back to its tabloid-free leanings again? THE evil fluffyface (talk) 20:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
