Untitled[edit]

The hike along the gorge is fine during the winter (which is the dry season), but not advisable during the rainy season.

Hiking[edit]

That's a very cautious piece of advice. I was told that hiking would only be dangerous if it has rained heavily for several days straight. When I did the high-trail hike, it was raining, and the path was difficult, but not especially dangerous. --67.68.52.58 05:39, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you comment on any work on the dam ?

"Environmental destruction" section[edit]

I edited this to make it a little less POV and to make clear that there are sources for it, but it is still pretty POV. This is important stuff, but anyone care to make it a bit more balanced? -- Spireguy 03:36, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some more info and more sources. I don't see what's unjustifiably POV about the section. Who's going to defend such a piece of destructive engineering which only serves to line the pockets of local party officials, anyway? --Sumple (Talk) 05:35, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent severe edit[edit]

I severely edited the material introduced a few days ago, because most of it was unencyclopedic. Some of it was promotional (self-promotion, I gather), and a lot of the rest was specific tourist information which would be more appropriate at Wikitravel. I also deleted the material introduced on this talk page, since it was a copyright violation; however I did check that the original article did exist, and used it as a reference for a small addition to the main article. -- Spireguy 17:01, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, I reverted the addition of a lot of inappropriate material. Sean, please read What Wikipedia is not for an explanation of why travel-guide/how-to/instructional material is not appropriate. Also, including your e-mail and contact info is blatant self-promotion, and is certainly not encyclopedic. If you have questions or concerns about what is appropriate to include, please address them on this talk page. Wikipedia welcomes your contributions if they are appropriate, according to Wikipedia policies and guidelines, with which you need to be familiar. -- Spireguy (talk) 15:32, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas[edit]

Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas now re-directs to the Tiger Leaping Gorge page. Is it possible to undo this in order for a separate article to be written for the Three parallel River area encompassing *all three* rivers instead of just this one short stretch of the Yangtze? 26 meters, waterfalls[edit]

When I hiked there were no waterfalls and possibly much less river. In December. The 26 meters statement takes a source, I doubt this is the legend. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.58.143.1 (talk) 17:54, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
