Origin of the word could be a combination of these two words: Tah in Persian language means Bottom; end or the lowest point ; and Maa in several archaic languages means Land ; therefore one can conclude that it means the low-land. Is Hejaz and Tihamah the same? At least I get the impression that there is an overlap. Hejaz seems to go a bit further into the land and not covering the southern coast, but the map is really very confusing. --Oddeivind (talk) 07:32, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
