I changed this to Category:Canadian people of American descent because there is no indication of African-American heritage; his mother is white Canadian, his father's father is from Nigeria and his father's mother is white from Oregon. ... discospinster talk 01:00, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is 'African-American' supposed to be taken literally or is it just being politically correct? Category:Black Nova Scotians‎ is a subcategory of Category:Canadian people of African-American descent. The one is a subcategory of the other. Either the categories are using the them "African American" to mean "Black," or there is an error with the categories. Wheatzilopochtli (talk) 14:34, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In the U.S. they tend to use the term "African American" whereas in Canada they tend to use the term "Black Canadian", so the categories are named the same way. This is somewhat out of the scope of this article anyway. ... discospinster talk 17:14, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
