The Tim Dillon Show[edit]

I think the section dedicated to the The Tim Dillon Show should probably be heavily trimmed. I can't find a single independent and reliable secondary source that actually discusses the show. All I can find are trivial mentions to the effect of "Tim Dillon, the host of The Tim Dillon Show", "The Tim Dillon Show hosted by Tim Dillon", and other such name checking without substance. None of the sources discuss what the show is, how is the show formatted, how long is the average episode, what was the inspiration for the show, or any other commonly discussed details of a podcast. The TimeOut source is probably the best one I can find.

I've come across quite a few Wikipedia pages that have included lists of guests that have been on the show. These are often arbitrary and unreferenced such as this one, so I'll be removing the list unless someone can find an independent and reliable secondary source that discusses the appearance of the guest on the show in some depth.

Where does the claim that the show has "309 thousand subscribers and 35 million views on YouTube" come from? It sounds like WP:OR. Are there independent and reliable secondary sources that make this claim? Similarly, is Ben Avery mentioned by independent and reliable secondary sources? I know primary sources could probably be used for discussing Ben Avery, but WP:ABOUTSELF states that if a self-published source is used it should not be "unduly self-serving" so I don't think the subscriber count or views is salvageable.

The Graphtreon does not appear to be a reliable source. For instance, there is a tab on the website where you can submit a Patreon account, which means Graphtreon does not just analyze all of Patreon's content but instead only analyzes content submitted by users of the service. The about page doesn't say who works for the website or what methods are used and the website itself has a Patreon account. I also think this would be an example of WP:OR.

The Spotify link provides undue weight to Spotify over other podcasting platforms. We can use Template:podcast platform links instead.

I'm going to go ahead and make some of these changes and add citations needed tags to anything I don't remove, but I thought I should mention my reasoning on the talk page beforehand. TipsyElephant (talk) 18:43, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Career[edit]

The majority of the career section appears completely unnecessary and promotional. Being a guest on a podcast is not a significant achievement and has almost nothing to do with one's career. Currently, eleven different podcasts are mentioned and linked to with only two sources being referenced (neither of which are independent and reliable secondary sources). This is a linkfarm and does not add anything encyclopedic to the article. I'm going to go ahead and remove the list. TipsyElephant (talk) 19:03, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @TipsyElephant. I disagree with the removal of all references. His podcast appearances are likely the main reasons people know who he is: namely, appearing on JRE, YMH and TFATK. It may be preferable to remove insignificant pods (as present in the version at time of comment) than remove all appearances entirely. Solipsism 101 (talk) 17:43, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
