Indicated sales of 2 million copies is dubious[edit]

Given the album only reached number 21 in the UK (it's home market) and only spent six weeks on the album chart, it does not seem plausible that it could have sold 2 million. AusChartMan (talk) 18:05, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there is a source for this figure. And while the album's chart life wasn't long, the play it was promoting ran for two years, so the album certainly could have sold steadily to play attendees wanting a souvenir, without making the top 75 or 100 in that two year stretch. I cannot find a UK certification for the album's sales at www.bpi.co.uk/brit-certified. This was its primary market. If it didn't even get a Silver certification for sales of 60,000, it is highly dubious that it got the claimed sales. Happy to be proven wrong if someone can enlighten us.
