Are mayors relevant to city history?[edit]

User Dicklyon deleted names of several mayors from the timeline, claiming they lack historical signficance. I disagree; mayors are part of Austin's history. What do others think? Do mayors belong in this timeline of Austin history or not? -- M2545 (talk) 06:39, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The ones that are notable for something other than being mayor of Austin, and the first mayor, make sense. The others, hard to see why you'd want them in a timeline, if they're not remembered for anything. Dicklyon (talk) 06:50, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Per your suggestion, I have posed the question on the main Austin talk page. -- M2545 (talk) 06:58, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Without waiting for consensus or even discussion, user Dicklyon again deleted names of several mayors from the timeline. Instead of deleting contested content from the article, it would be more helpful to add in-line relevance notes. -- M2545 (talk) 06:47, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
