This page cannot be merged with the Timeline of Indian History[edit]

The purpose of this page is to introduce the history of the region what is now know as Pakistan. The ancient India and the modern state India are two different entities. The modern India emerged just 60 years ago as a separate nation state when the British colonialists divided the British India, whereas the ancient India was roughly the region stretched from the Sutlej river in the east to the Jehlum river in the east. --Sarfarosh2 (talk) 11:50, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, especially the "Post-Independence Era" section - would be little odd to merge into India.

I have changed the merge notice to Timeline Pakistan.

There are two pages for Pakistan timeline, not sure which one should we keep and which one should we discard. or Should we keep both it wont make sense though.

Osama Bin Laden Death Location Fix[edit]

Abadabad is NOT near the Afghan border, so unless someone can cite a reputed geographer claiming so, it shouldn't say that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RRtexasranger (talkcontribs) 21:05, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Started a disscussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Timeline of Pakistani history (1947–present) please contribute.- Anjana Larka 08:02, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have started work on the merge that was the consensus at the AfD...8 months ago. It is fairly tedious work (maybe why it's been sitting on the "to be merged" list for so long), because the other article has dates written in month/day/ style, while this one is in day/month, and there are a few other style differences that have to be individually corrected, such as some differences in bolding. I am currently working on have just finished the 1940s and 1950s. Anyone else want to grab a decade? Splitting up the work could make this go a lot faster. Pinging those who suggested "merging" in the AfD, but anyone could jump in. @Anjana Larka:. @Evilfreethinker: @Zakaria1978:

(note: I am merging selectively to avoid the timeline becoming unwieldy)

1940s Green tickY
1950s Green tickY
1960s Green tickY
1970s Green tickY
1980s Green tickY
1990s Green tickY
2000s Green tickY
2010s Green tickY
