Suggestion[edit]

Include something about Ashley Madison, including their confidentiality troubles in 2015. PKT(alk) 21:28, 3 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion. I added Ashley Madison in these two edits. Riceissa (talk) 22:31, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Online[edit]

2a02:c7d:8aa3:c300:289e:690:1323:3a70's recent edit summary removing newspaper classifieds objected: it's not online dating, and other earlier dated ones aren't either but for the benefit of future editors who might misunderstood the word "online", it does not mean "using a web browser" as various advertisements tend to use it now ("view our terms and conditions online!"). It just means available from a computer. When early interactive computers "came online" decades before the Internet existed, that was when they had finished their automated boot sequence and were ready for custom user control. Since newspapers have been prepared on computers for decades and accessible by readers who have computers more recently, it would seem their classifieds qualify as being online now, even if they weren't in the 1960s. Regardless, all the entries earlier than the removed reference to newspapers were provided by computers and so were certainly "online". 49.180.123.199 (talk) 03:21, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
