Aeromold[edit]

Some sites use the name T-840 Aeromold, implying that the T-840 was built with Timm's innovative resin impreganated plywood. THis is one of the earliest "plastic" aircraft materials and quite significant historically. The normally reliable Aerofiles spells this out, and normally I would have included it, but have a problem in that there is no mention of this material in Jane's 1938's rather detailed construction description. In contrast, Jane's 1942 says that the Timm S-160 was the first Timm design to be built from this material. It was also the first Plastic bonded aircraft to get an Approved Type Certificate. So the the 840 was not largely Aeromold; perhaps parts of it were? If anyone has citable sources or more detail, please add. I'm out of sources!TSRL (talk) 20:11, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Life after first flight?[edit]

Currently the piece ends abruptly at the first flight; though there are later mentions in Flight, there's nothing to say what it got up to; nor is it in either Jane's 1941 or 1942. Again, sources needed.TSRL (talk) 21:19, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
