I have just removed the following section, which appears to be lifted from The Deccan Herald. The same text is being used at Aralaguppe, so watch there to see if anyone justified keeping this in Wikipedia Danohuiginn 18:50, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Information Technology!!!!!!!!!!!!!![edit]

I dont think Tiptur is near Bangalore International Airport and nor does it house any IT companies/call centers. If you think I am wrong please provide the appropriate references. Leotolstoy 18:45, 20 November 2006 (UTC):[reply]

Hi Manjuap please provide the appropriate references. You can do that by giving information such as distance to Bangalore International Airport and wipro/inforsys links that say that they have a office there. Leotolstoy 18:44, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Leotolstoy, Why did you remove our contribution under Tiptur?? Have you ever been there? Is anything wrong with you? Please justify your action.

FYI, I have visited Tiptur a few times and my home is less that 50 miles from that place. But that does not matter. If you present evidences along with your edits I will gladly accept any changes you make. I suggest you to read Wikipedia:No_original_research and Wikipedia:Verifiability before editing. Conflicting census data from 2011[edit]

Hello, This article contained two different sets of the same data from the 2011 Census of India.

The first one, which I retained and moved to the Demographics section:
According to the 2011 Census of India, Tiptur has a population of 59,543 inhabitants, of which 29,949 are male, 29,594 are female, and 5,911 were children aged six years or younger. Child sex ratio in Tiptur is 947, marginally lower than the Karnataka state average of 948. The literacy rate of Tiptur city is 88.30%, higher than state average (75.36%). In Tiptur, the male literacy rate is 91.72%, while the female literacy rate is 84.86%.

The other, which I removed:
According to census of India (2011), Tiptur has a population of 82,043. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Tiptur has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 69%. In Tiptur, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

It would be useful if someone finds out the correct 2011 figures from the census records, and makes amends in the article, if necessary. -- Rohini (talk) 04:18, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Article structure[edit]

I think it would be helpful to start changing the sections to those suggested in WP:INCITIES. For example the section currently titled 'Visiting places' and previously 'Amenities', 'Popular temples , mutts and visiting places' etc could benefit with being titled 'Culture'.SovalValtos (talk) 11:25, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
