Discussion[edit]

  • @T8612: That is all my suggestions, passing now. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 15:19, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Iazyges:Many thanks, I've corrected as you suggested. Do you think it's enough for a FA? T8612 (talk) 01:27, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • @T8612: Probably not nearly, if only because it is very hard to pass FA standards of "full coverage" for far-gone history. It's a good article, but FA standards basically require everything they've ever done in their lives to be known to pass FA. If you'd like an example, I've nominated both Iazyges and Marcian and both have failed. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 17:37, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
        • @Iazyges:I'm pretty sure I've been comprehensive. There aren't a lot of sources on him, so I think I've listed them all. I'll nominate it and I'll see how it goes. T8612 (talk) 21:12, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
          • @T8612: It's as comprehensive as it can be, but for ancient stuff that's usually not nearly enough. Feel free to list it, but I'm high doubtful it'll pass. -- Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 21:47, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Prose Suggestions[edit]

Please note that all of these are suggestions, and can be implemented or ignored at your discretion. I have made minor stylistic edits, feel free to revert any of them.

Lede[edit]

  • Titus Manlius Torquatus (born before 208[1] I'd suggest mentioning his date of birth to the "family background" area, and citing it there, as usually it's best not to cite sources in the lede unless absolutely necessary.
  • Would suggest expanding lede, possibly with his diplomatic work with Ptolemy VIII Physcon.

Family Background[edit]

  • It already counted 18 consulships, and 14 consular tribuneships before him.[3] suggest Members of the family had held the consulship 18 times and consular tribuneship 14 times before him.
  • alongside the great Claudius Marcellus during the Second Punic War while still in his early career would suggest either changing to early age, or clarifying that he had not achieved much yet.
