Widget brings victory to allies?[edit]

This is a bold statement: "It [the magentron] is considered to be the most significant factor in the Allied victory in the Second World War." The source is a BBC program. How about "considered to be a significant factor..."Gaintes (talk) 20:19, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SP-4306 Engines and Innovation: Lewis Laboratory and American Propulsion Technology[edit]

There is a problem with this article, when it was written back in 2005 some paragraphs in this article were copied verbatim from:

  • Virginia P. Dawson (1988?). "Jet Propulsion: Too Little, Too Late". SP-4306 Engines and Innovation: Lewis Laboratory and American Propulsion Technology. {{cite book}}: |author= has generic name (help); Check date values in: |year= (help); External link in |author= (help)CS1 maint: numeric names: authors list (link)

The paragraphs I have identified to date as copies start:

  • Tizard met with both Vannevar ...
  • Later Bush realised ...

When this copy was made back in 2005 we did not have the WP:PLAGARISM guideline so no blame can be attached to the original author of this article. It may be that this copied text is covered by {{Include-NASA}} template, so I will include that template in the article. But it may be that this particular essay is not under that US government copyright in which case the offending text will have to be removed. -- PBS (talk) 01:23, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
