The book's own article?[edit]

The book, To Hell and Back (book) was a national best seller and should also probably have an article - if anyone is interested. Rklawton 00:00, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I admit to being surprised to find that the book did not have its own article while the film did (at this writing, that Wikilink for the book redirects to the article on Murphy himself, BTW). I second Rklawton's motion. Ted Watson (talk) 19:46, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Burning tank destroyer[edit]

It should probably be mentioned (for his Medal of Honor action) that since Audie Murphy was firing the 50 cal. from a burning tank destroyer the Germans didn't think that anyone would be firing from a tank that was on fire and so couldn't spot where the hostile fire was coming from. In his book Murphy says it was the first time that winter that his feet were warm. 69.228.116.214 (talk) 06:59, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You're at the wrong place for that. This is the film's article. Try over at his biography. Clarityfiend (talk) 10:00, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Medal of Honor[edit]

This may belong in a trivia section, but the Medal of Honor Audie wears in the movie is the wrong style--he was awarded the Tiffany style Medal of Honor. I think he lost his medals. 50.202.81.2 (talk) 02:19, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Alpha male[edit]

Did anyone notice that the actual Audi Murphy was not a typical 'alpha male'?

Note that Herman Maringgele fought in 84 close combat battles but we are not meant to know about him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.129.104.110 (talk) 22:54, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
