Your information is very misleading, the Tolowa language has always been spoke in Northern California. The aboriginal lands for the Tolowa are from Wilson Creek in Northern California to Sixes River in Oregon. There have been several dictionaries written by Loren Bommelyn a Smith River Rancheria member and coucil member. Bud Lane took language lessons from Loren over several years. The Tolowa language has been taught by Loren at the Del Norte County High since 1980, and has been accepted as the foreign language requirement for higher ed in the State California College system.
