Tomás González (priest) vs Tomás González González[edit]

The Tomás González (priest) article should be deleted and not merged on the ground that it not the one to be used and edited. I originally created the article as Tomás González González, then someone moved the article to Tomás González (priest) deeming that his full name should be Tomás González. In Latin America, especially on this side of the hemisphere, both last names are used as your full name. Point of reference, look at the names of the other bishops in the Archdiocese of San Juan and their pages: List of Catholic bishops in the United States#Ecclesiastical Province of San Juan

Tomás González (priest) is the article to keep, because Tomás González González has been copied and pasted from it. (Renaming articles by cutting and pasting is not acceptable on Wikipedia.) After that, and getting an admin to perform a history merge if necessary, we can consider renaming the mended article properly to Tomás González González or any other title which may gain consensus. @Certes: The reason I cut and pasted it was that when I erased the redirect, it came up blank instead of showing the content of the Tomás González González page. You want proof, look at the History of Tomás González (priest) prior to the redirect/move and you'll see who created it(me). So no, do not keep the (priest) page, delete it. Keep the Tomás González González page. Thank You..

If you are sure that Tomás González González is the common name and do not think anyone would object then you should move the page properly. Never, ever, cut and paste. If the Move function doesn't work, perhaps because the new title is occupied, request a move, or if it may be controversial, start a discussion. If you cut and paste, your work will be undone as soon as it is discovered, wasting everyone's time. Certes (talk) 10:40, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please consider any future page moves of this priest's biography to be potentially controversial and request them by following the instructions at WP:Requested moves. – wbm1058 (talk) 04:03, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
