Iron Gland was originally from the album 'Dirt' so I changed it. But I don't know how to get the link so that it will directly go to the 'Dirt', an album of Alice In Chains, page. I hope I made myself clear.

Passed GA

Good article. I suggest referencing the equipment section (in cased I missed a reference, sorry) and adding more verifiable information. It's highly accessible to someone not familiar with the subject (I rarely, rarely listen to music at all, let alone metal). Otherwise, I suggest a peer review, those guys are better at fleshing out mistakes. I just tell you if it's good or not. DoomsDay349 22:42, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

The image is copyrighted and fails the fair use criteria (so will get deleted) in that "free image could not be created to replace it" - the current image is free in that someone took it at a concert and put it under a free license. M3tal H3ad 12:48, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

The following information: ""Rumors circulating the internet state he left because of political unrest; Araya denied this claim, stating that "that happened in ‘71 and we were already in the United States by that time"" Is wrong, because that happened in'73, but I didn't edit it, because maybe that was a Araya's mistake. Tom's religion

I removed Category:Christian musicians and changed it to Category:American Roman Catholics because it was a more appropriate category. --Eastlaw 07:08, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Why? Catholics ARE Christian, I am putting it back Iamanadam (talk) 14:52, 1 September 2008 (UTC) there's no track on the alice in chains album dirt named iron gland.

First of all, how? Do you even know what a deist is? Deists do not believe in a loving God (well, not all of them. Most see him as being a distant creator, a neutral diety). 12 - Change to Religion section

I just made a change in the religion section. It said that Araya IS catholic while other members of the band "profess of being atheists". That's, first of all, unnecessarily intricate language. Second, it had a second intention hidden. It assured the reader that Araya is a catholic, while the other members merely claimed to be atheists. We have the same kind of proof for either (lyrics, interviews, etc.). It's a typical fundamentalist christian argument to say that somebody "claims to be an atheist", that phrase carrying the hidden opinion that nobody is really an atheist. That is obviously biased, so I removed it to leave just the fact (that other band members are atheists, and Araya is a catholic)

Please assume good faith. The editors probably didn't mean that. To avoid the assumption either way, however, I have changed it to "nonreligious." Most of the other members have never really stated their religion, though some members have (King being atheist, Araya being Catholic, etc). I also would like to add that using the word "claim" and other variants are a way to deter from weasel words, as opposed to saying that a person "stated" or "implied." It is not uncommon for editors to use the word instead of "state" or "stated," or other variants. I really, seriously, highly doubt it was biased in anyway, rather, it was a way for editors to make it neutral. 98.198.85.83 (talk) 06:26, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

American?

Is Hit Parader reference really necessary for top paragraph?

While a well-known and well-regarded vocalist in heavy metal, referencing Hit Parader's idea of who is the best hardly seems core to Tom's identity.

Especially considering that the list in question lists many artists outside of heavy metal. Consider, for example, that Tom ranks 2 spots higher than Rod Stewart.

Nationality

Just as a question. Why is the nationality of Tom Araya described as only american? What does ethnicity has to do here? I mean. He is chilean by all means and also american. He has double nationality.


The constitution of Chile says that any person born in Chilean soil is a Chilean national (ius solis) and he also has Chilean parents, so ius sanguinis also applies here.


I don't wanna create a big argument but this is really strange. By all means he IS CHILEAN and most wikipedia's in other languages state that fact. Why the english wikipedia doesn't acknowledge this? Wikipexi2552 (talk) 20:43, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
