What's the definition of a creator?[edit]

Tom Jago is obviously critical to the bringing of Baileys to the world. But the word "creator", whether it is what he is known by or not, seems a bit suggestive of physical product development or prototyping.

We know that it was consultants that came up with the prototype of mixing whiskey, cream, sugar and chocolate (https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/books/in-1973-i-invented-a-girly-drink-called-baileys-1.3240945). And we know that it was unsurprisingly a chemist (or two) that managed to emulsify those products. We know that the name of the product, the graphics and the bottle were also the work of others.

He is the creator of Baileys as much as Steve Jobs is the creator of the iPhone. It sounds more impressive to have a single person credited alone for a product coming into being by using a grand title for their involvement. In reality, they can factually be described as "steerers", "unveilers" or "team leaders", but not "creators". 120.16.165.244 (talk) 01:55, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
