Speedy Deletion Request[edit]

If everyone who posted racist comments online was a notable figure Wikipedia would be full of this info. There is no claim to notability for this individual. The article seems like a way to "expose" the individual or punish him for being racist. As far as the information on the individual's actions, the article only states that the individual was a prolific poster of racist material on a racist forum and attracted some unwanted attention in the form of quasi-legal action by a lawyer. The article and its associated talk page are good candidates for speedy deletion. Imstillhere 07:40, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Winiki's court outcomes make this article notable. There is not that many instances of people being convicted of hate in Canada. The descions will effect further such proceedings and their outcomes. --Mista-X 20:01, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe he's the first person ever banned by a court from posting hate speech on the internet - an action that was reported on CBC Radio's flagship program, As It Happens. Anyway, given the articles on him in the London Free Press, Canadian Jewish News and other media it would seem that your claim of non-notability isn't shared by the mass media in Canada. Homey 20:30, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe the case is notable for a legal wiki pages, but the individual isn't notable enough to get an article on wikipedia. However, I'm sure we can bring this topic up to Jimbo Wales and deal with it. Imstillhere 00:08, 24 February 2006 (UTC)\[reply]

Why don't you just put foward an AFD or are you that confident you'd lose? But fine, if you want to ask Jimbo go for it, I'm sure he'll disagree with you. Homey 01:53, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the individual does meet notability for an article. If you think Wikipedia standards are otherwise, why don't you site from Wikipedia notability to back up your argument? --Mista-X 01:45, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see Jimbo has responded to the comments you made on his talk page by deleting them. Is that enough of a hint for you? Be advised, he did warn you that you are to consider yourself "on probation." Homey 01:58, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes. Of course I believe I'm going to lose. That's the problem. When admins put aside their administrative resposibilities for politics and vote based on what they want to see instead of what belongs on wikipedia, then I'm sure I will lose. I have no problem admitting that. By the way, your interpretive powers seem to be amazing! Too bad my comments don't seem to be the only ones removed. Imstillhere 08:10, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's disengenuous to put forward a Speedy Deletion request *because* you believe you'd lose an AFD. Speedy deletions are for non-controversial deletions, not deletion requests that you know are contestable. Homey 03:36, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This guy is definatly noteable within South-Western Ontario. Also, we would be noteable to any one from either the White Supremisist movement or the Anti-racist/anti-facist movement... Similar to noteablility in a field or in a non-pro sport, or within a sub-culture. So, my opinion would lean towards noteableMike McGregor (Can) 23:31, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed deleted image(s)[edit]

Just a note to say that I have removed some [or an] image[s] from the page beacuse they were speediable under either:

  • Category:Images with no fair use rationale
  • Category:Images with no copyright tag
  • Category:Images with no source

Or similar category. Iolakana|(talk) 18:01, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He is notable, if for no other reason, for defying a Canadian govt gag order and continuing to post on a US white racist forum. For this he was sentenced to nine months in prison.Falange (talk) 18:25, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
