Notability?[edit]

Is it just me or is this article scraping the barrel of notability either for Tommy's poker or music career? Hazir (talk) 01:12, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think so, no. The absence of WSOP results or other notable tournament vistories do not accurately reflect the prominence of Tommy within the poker community. His book is widely regarded by many top players as one of the very best pieces of poker literature around. The fact that Tommy does things other than play poker, such as his musicianship, are included as the information is well-reported in (somewhat reliable) secondary sources; I'm currently trying to access old newspaper clippings and magazine articles from his touring career. It significantly adds to a biographical article to report all aspects of a person's history, even though in this case most people will know Tommy as a poker player rather than a musician. I am not convinced. Does anyone else have an opinion? I'm leaning towards an AfD nomination... Hazir (talk) 12:31, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree. The guy can be viewed as the first specialist poker coach, with particular focus on mental toughness. While the article is thin today, he is likely to remain notable going forward. His Eightfold Path series has the highest production values in online poker coaching, so that will probably endure for a long time also. Slowjoe17 (talk) 15:04, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This guy is totally not notable at all. This whole page is SPAM and he had his freind write it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.38.156.102 (talk) 01:10, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Whilst I would like to consider myself a friend of Tommy that does not mean that he is not notable in his own right. An example of other similarly notable persons look at these articles: Sean Foley (golf instructor), Paddy Upton, Seth Riggs Jjd323 (talk) 10:13, 3 December 2010 (UTC)jjd323[reply]

Please take a look at WP:OTHERSTUFF. Does anyone else besides Tommy's friend and a few anons have an opinion? Regards Hazir (talk) 18:59, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Although I had not heard of Tommy Angelo before, this article does seem to be having a lot of aspects that would cause me to lean towards keeping it. Look at how many interviews he's done in so many different poker magazines, for instance. JaeDyWolf ~ Baka-San (talk) 20:06, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
