character age vs actor age[edit]

It could be interesting to add a note that points out Denis Leary is actually more than 10 years older than the character he portrays. Leary was born in '57, making him 52 as of season 5. In the series, it has been noted several times that the daughter character Colleen was conceived while her parents were in high school. Colleen is 19 or 20, which puts Tommy Gavin in his mid- to late-thirties. I just thought this was noteworthy as you generally don't see many male actors playing so much younger (aside from 20-somethings as high school students)Aoystreck (talk) 04:50, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
