Image:Torrington seal2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Dreamtown and nasty ownership/control over this article[edit]

An IP editor added informed mention of Torrington being named number 1 "Dreamtown" in the U.S.A., and why. Editor Polaron reverted, rudely in my view, with no explanation. I easily found many references in 2 seconds of research and re-added mention, using a MSNBC reference. Polaron revised to misstate the importance and to quibble about what was covered in the random one citation i chose to add. Currently the article states Torrington is the top one of 10 places, completely misstating the fact that Torrington was number one in the nation (I believe). This really seems like bad treatment of IP editors, and seems weirdly anti-Torrington. Is it some kind of control freakish behavior, to attempt to stop proper development of this idea? --doncram (talk) 23:06, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? First, Markvs88 reverted the exact same thing, which is why I re-reverted when the same editor added the same thing. Also, I adjusted the text to match what the source is saying. Article or Promotion?[edit]

The second paragraph (starts with "Torrington is a former mill town...") reads more like a breathless promotion for Nutmeg Conservatory and the Warner Theater than a serious encyclopedia article. The lack of references is also telling. I think this paragraph needs to be rewritten, and probably much of the content removed if references cannot be found to back up the claims. Especially the weird bit about Torrington "competing" with the neighboring city. Citibob (talk) 02:52, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
