– Vietnamese generals and politicians per hardback sources in articles: Lockhart & Duiker (2010), Frankum (2011), Tucker (2001), also as recent books by David G. Marr and others, plus per series recent RMs from Ngô Bảo Châu RM2, and other RMs and RFC at WP:VIETCON. Consistent MOS-level with all other Latin-alphabet article titles Czech / Maltese / Icelandic / Hungarian / etc. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:29, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Quelle horreur! I've never been able to come to terms with the Vietnamese diacritics set, and frankly believe the vast majority of readers, including Eastern Europeans, are intimidated by them. Even the National Geographic style guide recommends stripping them of the diacritics. That said, I'm not one to pronounce on the "correct" orthography of Vietnamese, which, as I understand, is written in "native Roman script". -- Ohc ¡digame! 02:57, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Wikipedia typically does not strip diacritics from names in Latin alphabets. —  AjaxSmack  02:48, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
