Transalpin Zürich - Graz (2013)[edit]

In december 2013 a new "Transalpin" was introduced, now operating between Zürich and Graz. See German Wikipedia. --Tobias b köhler (talk) 21:13, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding this detail. I still feel like the main part of the article should be the traditional service to Vienna, with the service since 2013 as a subsection. What do others think? ArtVandelay13 (talk) 20:05, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've already been thinking about this issue, but my thoughts are a little different. The "new" train appears to be pretty much the same train as the one that was cancelled in 2010, except that the route and terminus east of Innsbruck has been changed. To be consistent with other articles such as Blauer Enzian and Roland (train), this article should therefore treat it as a revived train instead of a new one. There is source material for that sort of treatment, eg. this article in a Swiss newspaper is headed "The Transalpin comes back". One other change reported in this article is that the name is now used officially only in Switzerland, although my brief preliminary research suggests that unofficial use of the name is widespread in Austria.
