Notability[edit]

Uncle Bob is a notable figure in programming object orientated design. He initiated the Agile Manefesto of which a key technique is Extreme Programming and it's core Practice Test Driven Development (TDD). TPP is a new concept that clarifies for a programmer a logical approach to undertaking effective Test Driven Development. I found his work not directly through Uncle Bob's work but rather from other programmers referring to these newer insights when explaining best practice approaches to TDD.

I believe this article to be notable as it is one of the most significant developments in the practice of TDD in the last few years. The parent term 'Transformations' as an opposite to 'Refactorings' isn't yet widely referenced (from my searches), the term TPP is so far encompassing these developments but I can see transformations being just the opposite of Refactorings being notable in the near future. Transformations in this concept does not refer to this Program transformation which is so generic as to be unrelated to these TDD related insights. --Evolve2k (talk) 21:55, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright permission[edit]

On 24 March 2013 [User:MadmanBot] flagged the article regarding use of possible copyright material. This material has been used verbatim as it is key quotes of significant statements by the author. The article has much scope for further expansion but I believe these statements to be a clear summary of the outlined topic. The author's page does not include any statement as to the copyright nature of their works. I reached out directly to the author and sought persmission to include their article on TPP in wikipedia. The author has since responded to the affirmative and stated we are free to use any article they have written on TPP.

Authors written permission: https://twitter.com/unclebobmartin/status/315933282527244288 I believe this to be sufficient, with permission in writing directly from the author.

I am hence closing the copyright warning and removing it from this page. --Evolve2k (talk) 23:48, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Source of TPP changes?[edit]

The list of transformations on this page is not identical with the list published by Robert C. Martin 2013. https://blog.cleancoder.com/uncle-bob/2013/05/27/TheTransformationPriorityPremise.html What is the source of the new list? Is it one of his videos? (The new list IS better than the original list, just asking for the reference.) --Christianhujer (talk) 03:45, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Martin wrote three follow-up blog-posts on the TPP. The one that gives the list that's on this Wikipedia page is https://blog.cleancoder.com/uncle-bob/2013/05/27/FibTPP.html and I have just updated the page to have that reference. 51.9.195.162 (talk) 18:02, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
