Can they be on any frequency?[edit]

Systems may currently be licensed on any frequency from 530–1700 kHz. Does this mean there can be a station on, say, 1450 kHz? 173.9.10.235 (talk) 17:41, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Other types of tourist information radio[edit]

I'm not prepared to take on the job, but a major Charleston, South Carolina radio station has changed to tourist information. I have nothing to link that format to as it would redirect here. But this is not the type of station WSPO is. I have reason to believe WQTM, with an equally strong daytime signal but a very limited nighttime signal, is also in the category with WSPO. Their numerous billboards say that in addition to information they have comedy. Not radio comedy, I have a feeling. Highway advisory radio → Travelers' Information Station – per WP:UCN. I'd do this myself (the TIS acronym is in common use, and appears in a RS), but it was requested to be moved in 2006 from the target title. I've notified the original requester. --Relisted. No, according to the link, it's in title case, not all caps. But the link also puts "Highway Advisory Radio" in title case, and "State and Local Governments" in title case, and "AM Broadcast Band" in title case, so quite frankly I don't trust it on "Travelers' Information Station". It seems like the current title could be, in the future, a common noun article like football; surely the article could be written integrating various kinds of traveler's alert radio. This is clearly not that article. Support. Red Slash 23:58, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
